Trade, a copy of a despatch from the

Governor of Hong Kong relating to

representations which have been made

by the Government Marine Surveyors in

the Colony concerning their salaries.

these officers have some claim to a

higher scale of remuneration than they

are receiving at present, and he

proposes to approve the proposals put

forward in the despatch. Before doing

so, however, he would be grateful if

the Board of Trade would be so good as

to furnish him with their advice in

the matter, particularly in regard to

the points dealt with in paragraphs 7

and 9 of the despatch.
